271 B St Redwood City, CA 94063 -After 23 days on the market this home has been reduced $50k today. It is now $54k below its last price.

After being on the market for six months, this property finally dropped its price by $455100.  That is a significant price reduction and perhaps it will accept some bids now?  The price per square foot is way below the market price for the neighborhood, and the house looks quite decent.

I think this property was on MLS a while back and went off the market. Now I see it on Craigslist for $748888 in the for sale by owner category!  It was last sold in 2006 for $760000 so the difference isn’t all that large, and it has a basement.  That’s pretty rare in the Bay Area.  Anyway the Craigslist listing says to call (520)603-6457 or email hous-788333134@craigslist.org if you’re interested.

This home actually looks beautifully staged, and by lowering the listing price it may actually do quite well by attracting more buyers. The median price per square foot is in the high 600s in Burlingame so this home isn’t exactly cheap.

My ex-coworker showed me this breaking news report. According to this additional Chronicle article, multiple weapons were found at the scene of the house and three men were dead. One of the men apparently lived in the house and two others were found in the garage which was converted in a living space. Supposedly it was a home invasion/robbery gone wrong. I’m not sure if the guy that lived there was the owner, but either way, this is very disturbing news. I love how this listing dropped 51k right after it got listed, and how it’s on the tiniest sliver of a lot. This one is also rolled back to pre-2002.  It’s hard to find things in East Palo Alto that aren’t at least 30% off now.
